hello I was hoping you guys could reccommend some good redact alternatives / competitors. I am on Windows and I’d like to delete my webhistory.
mostly I would like to delete all my web history from facebook twitter and reddit
please can you tell me of any software or web apps that do what redact does?
This is my personal favorite. It deletes from all the social media platforms that redact does, but like 20 others that redact doesn’t work on. Highly recommended!
You don’t think it’s a bit…weird to come to the redact support forum and ask for alternative apps?
Just FYI, there are no real alternatives. There are a few provides who do X/Twitter. There are a couple Discord bots but they don’t do anything like what redact does, and there is a competitor for Facebook but it’s a browser extension and it’s very bad and does nothing but crash.
Why do you need an alternative app anyway, does redact not work for what you need?
Which website or soicial media platform are you trying to delete content from? There are only a handful of platforms that have alternatives. Twitter and Discord are the only two platforms that have mass delete apps or plugins, that I know of.
I don’t know of any legitimate redact competitors. Like thew others have said, there are a few options out there but only for one platform. There are no competitors that offer deletion from multiple social media platforms, redact is the only one who does that.
Also, BTC is correct. That is the one decent alternative to redact…for sure worth a try.
depending on which site you need to mass delete content from, there are likely no competitors. Only Twitter has any real redact-like competitors. But Redact is free to use on twitter and the competitors are all paid services. So in reality, what’s the point? If you want to pay for content deletion on twitter, and have fewer options and poorly coded apps, there are certainly options out there for you to try.
This just seems like weird question to ask on the actual redact website. Why don’t you go ask this on reddit or something?
Undiscord was not bad until it started getting people banned
I used to use https://tweetdeleter.com some years back but it wasn’t very good and it also costs money to use
Honestly, there aren’t many (any at all actually) “do it all” alternatives to redact. Most things are one platform only (X only, Discord only, etc). and be careful with random YouTube recommended tools, a lot of them are sketch or just repackaged scripts that trigger captchas/locks. For Windows browser history, just clear it in Chrome/Edge. For social media history, you’re basically stuck doing platform-by-platform cleanup if you don’t want to use redact.
the reason i ask for alternative is because i can’t afford to buy redact
I’m new here on the forum but not new to redact or the mass delete scene. I have tried most of the competitors offerings. It’s not pretty out there.
