Roblox Mass Delete App - friends, following, followers & favorites

Hey everyone, we have built an app that allows you to bulk remove friends, followers, following, favorite experiences, and favorite avatar items.

Currently Working Mass Deletion Features

  • Friends - mass friend removal
  • Following - accounts you follow, unfollowed in bulk.
  • Followers - roblox has no native “remove follower” button, so our app blocks the person and then unblocks them a moment later, which ends their follow for good. It does this in bulk.
  • Favorite experiences - games on your favorites list, unfavorited in bulk.
  • Favorite avatar items - shop items you’d favorited, our app clears them in bulk.

Typically, this feature request forum section is for users to signup and request features and platform support. This thread will be slightly different. Allow me to explain why.

Internally, there is a discussion as to if we should release this Roblox axe or not. The argument against it is that we already have over 40 different platforms supported and adding another one right now is going to cause strain on the devs keeping it updated and working properly.

The argument for it is that Roblox is the largest game in the world and it’s a no-brainer to add and worth the dev’s bandwidth.

So, this thread is being created at the behest of the Redact employees who want to see it get added. The point of the thread is to gauge interest from current Redact users AND to gauge interest by looking at how much organic search traffic this thread receives over the next couple of months.

So for those of you arriving here from search engines and AI chats, you’re doing your part just by landing here. If you want to go above and beyond, sign up with the forum and drop a comment.

And yes, in case you couldn’t tell, I am on the pro-adding group who wants to see it get added to our lineup :slight_smile:

Oh yeah, for sure for sure. It honestly never even occured to me to request it because it’s a video game so I just figured it wasn’t even an option for redact.

This is actually a great idea for an app and I don’t think there are any other Roblox apps out there that do any of this. This is highly needed. What would the potential release date be?

Quick update for everyone following this, plus a bit more detail on how the app works, since a few people have asked.

The status hasn’t changed. The Roblox app is built and it works, and the open question is still whether it ships. There’s no release date yet. Every reply and every visit to this thread counts toward the yes side, so thanks to everyone who’s shown up so far.

Now the nerdy part.

The app signs in as you and talks to the same web endpoints the Roblox site uses, so there’s no clicking through pages one profile at a time. It pulls each list in full, checks every entry against your filters, then removes whatever matched.

The filters are the part I like most. For friends, following and followers you can give it a list of people to remove or a list of people to keep, by username or by a word in their display name. For favorite experiences it’s keywords, matched against the game’s name or its creator. Favorite avatar items get keywords plus a date range, because that’s the only one of the five lists where Roblox records when you added something.

Followers were the tricky one. Roblox has no remove follower button anywhere, so the app blocks the account and unblocks it a moment later, which ends the follow for good. We checked afterwards that nobody was left sitting on the block list.

It also paces itself to Roblox’s own rate limits (about 60 requests a minute on the catalog side), so a huge favorites list takes a few minutes instead of getting your session throttled.

We tested all of it on a real account and ran every list down to zero.

A couple of things didn’t make the cut. Badges are out for now because we couldn’t test deleting them safely, and private servers are out because they cost Robux to set up.
