Does anyone know how or if you can delete discord accounts without waiting for the 14 day period?
Nope there is no legit way to skip the wait. Discords own help article says once you hit delete account there is a 15-day deletion window, and support canât speed it up.
who knows if support canât ACTUALLY speed it up though, prob just trying to prevent a bunch of people bothering their support staff with these requests. I really canât imagine there is no internal way to immediately delete account, sounds like a lie to me.
If youâre in a hurry to remove your identity you can sorta âpre-deleteâ the account info. Change your display name to something generic, swap your profile picture to a default one, and leave all your servers before hitting the delete button. It wonât make the 14 days go faster, but it makes the account unrecognizable to anyone looking for you while the clock ticks down. Not much else you can do I think to be honest.
Since you are stuck with the 14-day waiting period anyway, you can try to go ghost mode in the meantime.
once you initiate the deletion and log out, your presence is effectively gone to everyone else. Just make sure you donât log back in to check on it, or Discord will take that as a request to cancel the deletion and youâll have to start the 14 days all over again lol
login one last time and change all your info so if Google caches it, it caches the new (fake) info.
thanks for the info everyone
hi everyone first time posting here!! ok the part where logging back in restarts the 14 day clock is news to me!! i just initiated my deletion last week and i was definitely going to log back in to âcheck on itâ because iâm impatient lol. so glad i saw this thread before i did that!!
quick q if anyone knows: does opening the email confirmation count as logging back in? or does it have to be in the actual app?? thanks in advance!!
