Hello redact team, I am wondering whether you plan to build an app or built in feature for mass deleting chats inside ChatGPT? My account has a very large conversation history, and I recently learned that when I share a chat by copying the share link, the conversation can become indexable on Google. I do not have a simple way to see every link I have shared over time, so I cannot easily tell which conversations are visible or could start appearing in search results. I would like a safe, reliable way to review and clean up my archive in one sweep. Ideally, the tool would surface any shared threads, show the current visibility status, and let me unshare or delete in bulk. Filters for dates, titles, and keywords would also help. A preview step and an export of affected items would reduce mistakes. If this already exists, please point me to the workflow. If it does not, could you consider adding it soon, or provide a script or guide that helps users handle bulk deletion without risking data loss? Thank you for considering this request. I appreciate any guidance that can protect my privacy while saving time and effort too.
oh this would be a great addition! I read about this thing where chatgpt is exposing peoples chat history just the other day and it sounds like a nightmare for privacy. A chatgpt bulk deleter would be sick!
Hey there, this does not exist yet but it’s a great idea - I had no idea the content of the chat could be indexable on Google.
Someone should make this it would be really helpful. It would have been more helpful if OpenAI didn’t create this mess in the first place. Like, why are they sharing our convos with the public just because I generated a share link. Me generating a share link doesn’t mean I’m trying to share with everyone. They don’t even include a disclaimer or an open being like “hey, you want to make this indexable?”. Ridiculous.
OMG why didn’t someone tell me! You can actually mass delete all your chatGPT chats at once, simply go to your account (located in the bottom left corner) and go to settings. When settings opens up, there is an option to bulk delete everything at once.
yeah but it’s all or nothing, which is stupid. like OK you can mass remove your entire chatGPT history, or you can delete them one by one and spend 14 hours doing so. it’s not very user friendly.
it’s honestly not too bad to just delete one by one, they have a small delete icon and you can just push it and quickly move to the next. it’s really one of the least obnoxious deletion methods
they do have an extension out there that helps manage chatgpt chats, it’s pretty helpful. I wont mention it here for obvious reasons, not hard to findd by searching though.
