I am about to mass delete a ton of discord messages and I am concerned that it will notify people when I delete their messages. I am leaving my guild after much drama and fighting, I want to get out liike a ghost in the night. Can anyone confiorm for certain that Discord wont notify users?
Like I know that if they go to read old messages they will see that it was deleted but what I am actually concerned with is if there is any proactive type of alert or notice that messages have been deleted…
Discord doesnt send proactive “someone deleted messages” alert to regular users. Discord’s audit log is explicitly for administrative actions and includes entries for single message delete and bulk delete actions. Discord also exposes message deletion events (like bulk deletes) that bots and loggers listen for, which is why the “logging bots” can record deletions if a server has them enabled.
the only way they’d probably see is if they have a discord bot recording activity on their server, even then they probably wont notice unless they are activly monitoring their activity log
discord doesn’t notify the other person when you delete messages, unless there is some kind of situation where a discord bot like a listening bot is active. otherwise, no.
