I have a couple Reddit accounts from a while back that have been permanently banned. But it seems that they’ve implemented a system change preventing me from editing my comments, which I think is preventing Redact from working. I’ve used Redact a couple times so far, but after I get the completion message, I check my account to see that nothing has changed. Any help or clarity on this would be much appreciated.

I’m assuming you’re referring to a site ban on Reddit, rather than a specific subreddit ban.
In this case, typically Reddit blocks:
- posting
- commenting
- voting
- editing
However, in every case we’ve encountered Reddit still allows deletion of content from banned accounts.
I can imagine this may be quite frustrating; deleting Reddit posts is a flawed privacy measure (when compared with editing or edit → delete). Unfortunately, this is a deliberate limitation of Reddit & not something we can work around.
